Concave Cutter Stainless Steel

One of the single most important bonsai tool is the concave cutter. Its main function is to remove branches in a manner that promotes rapid and smooth healing of the wound. Its name comes from the shape of the cut and wound left on the woody trunk or branch. When properly used the concave pruner leaves a wound on the trunk that is taller than it is wide and slightly concave. The characteristic shape of the concave pruner wound makes use of the fact that wounds on the trunk of trees heal in from the sides rather than from the top and bottom. The concave depression into the trunk allows the wound to callous over without creating an undesirable bump on the trunk.

  2. A wonderful post. Thanks for the info.
I have created a section in my blog with a lot of content, a detailed explanation of each specific tool that we use in bonsai. I have also included a long list of manufacturers from all over the world, not only from USA (American Bonsai, Tinyroots, Roshi) from China (Ryuga, Ding Mu, Mu tian bonsai Tools) and of course from Japan too (Masakuni, Kaneshin , Yagimitsu,) with information about the steel quality of the parts, the places of manufacture and the guarantees of each brands. I have included some images to be able to identify the kanji and the stamps of each one of these brands.
On the one hand, all the pruners, the straight concave mower, the spherical or emptier mower, and the concave mower with a curved cut. Also the plier and roots pruner too. I have also included the specific pliers and pliers, the chipper pliers, the wire cutting pliers and the jin pliers that are also bonsai tools and very useful. In case it may be interesting I leave the link to my blog, where perhaps the Spanish-speaking public will find it easier to follow the contents. Thanks for the effort and regards
